Daan Van Der Linden

The Netherlands’ greatest export, Daan Van Der Linden, melds the past, present and future of skateboarding into one. Daan skates all terrain and has the uncanny ability to look equally comfortable throwing a slob fast plant in a backyard pool as he is doing a backside 180 nosegrind on an 11-stair. The future of skating is safe in the hands of kids like Daan.

The name Van Der Linden might be a somewhat new to some but Daan has been killing it overseas for over a decade now. He’s actually been skating so long that it’s debatable whether or not Daan was born on a skateboard. There are eyewitness accounts of a padded up Daan spinning 540s as a 9-year-old and he hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down since being added to our Vans Europe team back at age 13. Luckily for all of us Daan was taken under the wing of Dutch legend, 100% Skateshop owner and long-time Vans Europe family member, Jeroen Sars, at a young age. Jeroen is one of the main reasons Daan’s sponsor list is as classic as his skating and his bag of tricks is so deep that it’s impossible to pigeon-hole him into one style or era.

Omar Hassan. John Cardiel. Tony Trujillo. Rowan Zorilla. Vans has always held a special place in our heart for the ATV skater, the guy who skates whatever is put in front of him regardless of how deep, how tall or how many stairs. We’ve always loved guys who share our philosophy that it’s all just skateboarding, one big, tight-knit brotherhood and so we couldn’t be prouder to add Veldhoven’s favorite son, Daan the Man, to our family.
